Amazon provides a very robust SellerCentral and as an online retailer it normally caters to all of the operational and business needs. While this works for most businesses it doesn’t really cater to a lot of custom use cases needed to run a business or honestly it doesn’t cater to create a differentiation to other online retailer competitions. Amazon MarketPlace API’s or Amazon MWS API’s enables sellers to go above the competition, it gives sellers the ability to get the data in real time from Amazon without opening the SellerCentral.

What Is Amazon MWS?

According to the document provided by the Amazon Team here is what they say “Amazon Marketplace Web Service (Amazon MWS) is an integrated web service API that helps Amazon sellers to programmatically exchange data on listings, orders, payments, reports, and more. Data integration with Amazon enables high levels of selling automation, which can help sellers grow their business. By using Amazon MWS, sellers can increase selling efficiency, reduce labor requirements, and improve response time to customers. There are no fees associated with Amazon MWS, but to use the Amazon MWS API you must have an Amazon MWS-eligible seller account and you must register to use Amazon MWS.

I think they have done a wonderful job in explaining the terms in a language that anyone can understand, but if I have to reword it here is how I would tweet about it… “MWS API allows user to get data available in SellerCentral in realtime to make a SMART & Customized business solutions for existing sellers”

Let me not make this article boring by talking about technical stuff, I am going to do that later at the end of the article so people who are just going to hire us to write their applications can save important time of their life. (J/K)
